Quasar takes in hand its 9th Opus Prize, along with a grant in recognition of its international outreach !

We are still on cloud 9 about the 24th Opus Awards Gala, where we won the “International Outreach” award! A huge thank you to the Conseil québécois de la musique and to CINARS for their consideration!

We are presenting Chaleurs, by Walter Boudreau, this upcoming February 26th!

 

For the 10th edition of the SNCQ's Montreal / New Musics festival, we have the honour of presenting Chaleurs, a monumental work by Walter Boudreau. Accompanying us on stage will be dancer and choreographer Paul-André Fortier.

The event will be available as a live webcast, free of charge.

It is with regret that our partners of the Vivier Group have announced the suspension of their 2019-2020 season following recent directives given by Quebec's Institute of Public Health, This announcement make official the cancellation of our Électro Libre concert and the end of our concert hall activities for the current season.

The Électro Libre concert scheduled for June 5th has been cancelled.

 

Regrettably, the unfolding situation addressing Covid-19 has led to exceptional measures. Following government recommendations, we have decided to cancel the Électro Libre concert planned for June 5th. All activities related to our European tour pt.2, from May 3 to 23, 2020, have been postponed until a later date.

[COVID-19 announcement] ELECTRO SERIES: POSTPONED

Unfortunately, the situation concerning COVID-19 has required that we postpone our Electro Series, scheduled for April 23rd. We would like to thank our partners at CIRMMT for their valued support, and also the composers: Myriam BleauGene ColemanBertrand Dubedout and Örjan Sandred. JOURNÉE DU SAXOPHONE (SAXOPHONE DAY)

Saxophone Day will take place this Saturday, November 16th, at 9:00 am at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University! Come and attend masterclasses, workshops and exclusive performances offered by Quasar and our distinguished guests, the Stockholms Saxofonkvarttet!

Do not miss the supplier tables, including demonstration, shop and repair, presented by our generous partners: Twigg, Vandoren and Buffet Crampon!

SCHEDULE

Today, November 11th, marks the arrival of the Stockholms Saxfonkvartett, who have touched down on American soil for the first time! At the heart of their celebrations to commemorate their fifty years of activity, the SSQ will take part in two of our events this week!

On November 16th, the ensemble will join us on the Journée du saxophone  to offer workshops, master classes and exclusive performances!

Registration for the Journée du saxophone (Saxophone Day) has started!

McGill University's Schulich School of Music, in partnership with Quasar and the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet, presents a day dedicated to saxophone students of all levels, who will have access to master classes, workshops and concerts. All thanks to the generous participation of Twigg Musique, Vandoren and Buffet Crampon!

It is with regret that we have to cancel tonight's performance for reasons beyond our control. Since the show takes place outdoors, we are unfortunately subject to the vicissitudes of the weather. Tomorrow's performance is still on schedule, and all ticket holders for tonight's show will be admitted.
