Quasar takes away 2 trophies at the Opus Prize gala!

This past January 19th the 23rd gala of the Opus Prize was held, presented by the Conseil québécois de la musique at the magnificent Salle Bourgie of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Nominated in 3 categories, we were in fine figure as we walked away with the 7th and 8th Opus prizes of our career!

We won awards in the "Concert of the Year - contemporary music, electroacoustic" category for Cathédrale-Métal, as well as the "Creation of the year" category for Ode au Métal by Sonia Paço-Rocchia! A grand harvest for which we are very proud and appreciative.

Bravo and thanks to our friend Sonia Paço-Rocchia for the project's impetus, to our collaborator Maxime Genois for scenography, to composers Orlando Giacinto Garcia and Jacob David Sudol, and to the teams at Productions Recto-Verso,  Groupe Le Vivier and the Gesù!

Our thanks as well go to our sponsoring agencies: Canada Council for the Arts, the Council of Arts and Letters of Québec, the Montréal Arts Council and the SOCAN Foundation ! A  very special thanks to the Conseil québécois de la musique for its marvelous prize!
