Ouvrons, tendons et prêtons l'oreille...

Winner of the new music creation and dissemination residency program (offered by the Conseil des arts de Montréal and the réseau Accès culture in collaboration with Groupe Le Vivier), Quasar is participating this Fall in a series of creative residencies with the next-generation composer Brice Gatinet.
Ouvrons, tendons et prêtons l’oreille...is a project entirely dedicated to new music with a program constructed around Montreal as a sound object. The repertoire is entirely composed of mixed music, which is to say, music in which the sound of acoustic instruments intermingles with electronic sounds; it is through this approach that the sounds of the city are integrated into the compositions. Taking a participatory approach, the work will use recordings from various Montreal neighborhoods, recorded by their residents.
The creation will be presented during the 2018-2019 seasons of the Conseil des arts de Montréal on tour.
