Vapeurs taillées

Vapours carved out of languorous air
Here I am once again faced with the unbearable insubstantiality of air, a shapeless vehicle for volatile sounds. In all candour or insolence, I try to sculpt vapour and choreograph fate. It’s an exercise in patience and wonder, because it’s impossible, but the path that doesn’t lead there offers a truly sublime view of the mind.
Vaporous ideas are not so smooth and not at all square. They are fragile, but not brittle. Their bodies are resilient, but still sensitive to external forces, of which there are many. To examine them properly, I imagined us in a sterile room and contemplated the shapes they invent when they have nothing specific to fill, when they are not jostled or disturbed, and I tried to materialise them in the form of a saxophone quartet.
I offer you a choir of mist; a liminal dance of fog; a humble attempt to coincide with untamed winds.
