Cinq pièces liquides (LaSalle)

CAM en tournée

Concert

Description

Presented as part of CAM en tournée

Quasar offers a program that blends contemporary music with original creations, featuring five works that orbit—closely or distantly—around the musical universe of Quebec composer Claude Vivier.

The concert explores Vivier’s inner circle, beginning with a piece by one of his composition mentors in Paris, Paul Méfano. It then highlights his influence on today’s composers with Bestiaire by Émilie Girard-Charest, along with two works commissioned specifically for this project: Vapeurs taillées by Florence M. Tremblay and Cinq pièces liquides by Yassen Vodenitcharov. To open the program, rediscover Claude Vivier’s iconic work Pulau Dewata, which the quartet has been performing and refining for nearly 30 years—a continually renewed tribute to this great composer.
