Cinq pièces liquides (Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie)

Concert

Bulles translucides et colorées flottant sur un fond noir, avec des teintes vives de bleu, violet, rose et orange
Description

Presented as part of the Conseil des Arts de Montréal on tour

Quasar presents a programme that combines contemporary music with creative works, featuring five pieces that revolve, directly or indirectly, around the musical universe of Quebec composer Claude Vivier.

The concert focuses on Claude Vivier's close circle, with a work by one of his composition teachers in Paris, Paul Méfano. We then discover his influence on today's composers with Bestiaire by Émilie Girard-Charest, as well as two works commissioned especially for this project: Vapours carved out of languorous air by Florence M. Tremblay and Cinq pièces liquides by Yassen Vodenitcharov. The concert opens with a rediscovery of Claude Vivier's seminal work, Pulau Dewata, which the quartet has been playing and perfecting for nearly 30 years, in a constantly renewed tribute to this great composer.
