With their usual boldness and flair, the musicians of Quasar venture into the premieres of three new works. And along with these: two titles by John Rea, including Fantaisies et allusions, for 4 saxophones and snare drum, and La Capra che suona, for 10 saxophones. An evening full of saxes in contrasts where the instrument - whether solo, in a quartet, or in ensemble - oscillates between extreme virtuosity and languid, contemplative evolutions.
