Kristupas Bubnelis

Kristupas Bubnelis is a Lithuanian composer whose music is celebrated for its "decisive clarity and captivating harmonic brilliance" (Frankfurter Rundschau). His work merges collage-like structures with seamless timbral transformations, creating rich, hybrid sonic landscapes.
Bubnelis' compositions have been performed internationally, spanning Europe, North America, and Asia, by renowned ensembles such as Ensemble Modern (Germany), Caput Ensemble (Iceland), the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, among others. Recent highlights include appearances at the Lucerne Festival Academy, California Festival, and ISCM World New Music Days. His accolades include the Lithuanian Composers’ Union Prize and the Eduardas Balsys Young Composer’s Competition.
A Doctoral candidate at Columbia University, studying with Georg Friedrich Haas, Bubnelis holds degrees from the Royal Academy of Music in London, where he graduated with distinction.
