With Le Cri des oiseaux fous, Quasar continues its wild journey into the world of creation and improvisation. After reading two superb novels by Dany Laferrière Le Cri des oiseaux fous and L'Énigme du retour, Jean-Marc Bouchard decided to conceive a musical tribute to the works. It is true that, in the eye of an improviser, some of the author's sentences cannot go unnoticed. In this journey where written music, improvisation and electronic processing coexist, Quasar teamed up with Jean Derome, a key figure in contemporary music. Dany Laferrière has generously agreed to record some of his quotes with his own unique voice, punctuating Énigme du retour, a large "improvisatory fesque" bringing together five saxophonists.
