Thierry Tidrow
(1986 - )

Anika Neese
Thierry Tidrow is a Franco-Ontarian composer currently living and working in Germany. He studied composition, music theory, and early music performance at McGill University and holds a master's degree from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (Prof. Richard Ayres) and an Advanced Studies diploma from the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg. He has collaborated with many performers across Europe and North America, including Ensemble Modern, Quatuor Bozzini, les Boréades, Klangforum Wien, Continuum, hand werk, EMC+, Ensemble Paramirabo, Sarah Maria Sun, Heather Roche and many others. Thierry is a laureate of the Canada Council for the Arts Jules-Léger Prize (2014) and of McGill University's Graham Sommer Competition (2018). Thierry has written many theatrical works, including ten operas and a collaboration with Innu poet Natasha Kanapé Fontaine. He is currently composer-in-residence at the Dortmund Opera.
