Jérôme Minière was born in France in 1972 and lived there until the age of 19, he then studied cinema for 5 years at INSAS (Brussels), then he moved to Quebec where he has now lived for 23 years. . It is therefore safe to say that he does French-speaking songs, that is to say neither French-French nor "pure" Quebecois. The territories he explores are musical and poetic.

 


He has released a dozen albums including, “Jérôme Minière danse avec Herri Kopter" (2013, Félix for album électro), "Le vrai le faux" (2010, Rapsat-Lelièvre Prize), "Coeurs" (2007), "Jérôme Minière Chez Herri Kopter"(2004), "Petit Cosmonaute" (2002, Félix for auteur-compositeur), "Jérôme Minière présente Herri Kopter" (2001, Félix for album électro), and "La nuit éclaire le jour qui suit" (1998), one of the first French albums to combine electronic music and song. As a composer, author, director or remixer, he has worked with many artists including Pierre Lapointe, Martin Léon, Michel Faubert, JP Ferland, Jim Corcoran, Dumas, François Breut, Lhasa de Sela, Frannie Holder, Bïa ...

Curious by nature, he has also collaborated with artists in the visual arts, cinema, dance, theatre, performance, advertising and literature. He also develops his own video clips and hybrid projects with visual artist MP Normand. In addition, he published his first novel "L’enfance de l'Art" in 2014 with Quai no5 / XYZ

Since the album "Une île" (2015), Jérôme Minière has mainly composed for the theatre, following a fruitful series of collaborations with the director Denis Marleau (UBU theater). He was able to work in France at the Comédie Française for the play “Innocence”, and in Quebec, to take the TNM stage for the “Tartuffe” or to interpret songs by Bertold Brecht at the Espace Go. He also composed and produced
Le livre-disque Un pique-nique au soleil (released in 2019 by La Montagne Secrète). He also composed the music for the documentary film "Point d'Equilibre" by Christine Chevarie-Lessard (ONF / 2018).

With these new experiences underhand, he worked on a diptych of two albums: “
Dans la forêt numérique” (treleased on December 7, 2018 on all digital platforms and in a limited CD edition) and “Une clairière” (in 2019, on vinyl and digitally with the French label Objet Disque).
