Alithéa Ripoll
( - )
Following a Master’s degree in Composition at the Conservatoire of Liège in Belgium, Alithéa Ripoll began teaching there as an assistant. She temporarily stepped away from her teaching activities and her role as educational coordinator at the Centre d’Art Vocal et de Musique Ancienne in Namur to pursue a PhD in Composition and Sound Creation under the supervision of Ana Sokolović at the Université de Montréal. At the same time, she became programming assistant for Le Vivier.
Driven by interdisciplinarity, she develops various projects in collaboration with numerous artists. More than sixty performed compositions have resulted from collaborations with ensembles such as Musiques Nouvelles (BE), Laps (BE), Hopper (BE), Paramirabo (QC), Sepia (PL), Trio Spilliaert (BE/FR), Fractales (BE), Sixtrum (QC), NEM (QC), among others, as well as with artists from other disciplines.
Her works are regularly performed at several Belgian and international festivals, in the Netherlands, France, Czech Republic, Poland, Spain, Chile, and Quebec.
In 2021, she received a study grant from Université de Montréal and a creation grant from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles for her piece Rencontre sous notre Lune, interpreted by the Trio Spilliaert.
