Unfamiliar Trails in Fort Macleod takes place starting at 5:30 on September 25  at the downtown Fort Macleod CIBC Branch, leading to an evening event at the Empress Theatre/Cinema. Beginning at 5:30, experience Drum Grid: a Sonic Journey with A’Sitapiiksi, an adaptation of Raven Chacon’s (Diné/Navajo) environmental sound art work – Drum Grid, uniquely performed by the Coaldale Prairie Winds Secondary School Drum Line in collaboration with dancers from the Fort Macleod A’sitapiiksi (Young People) Powwow Club. 

Next, beginning at 7PM, come listen to the premieres and reprised works of contemporary music performed by the renowned ensembles: Cicchillitti and Cowan Canadian Guitar Duo (Moncton/Montreal), the Musaeus String Quartet (Lethbridge) and, the Quasar Saxophone Quartet (Montreal). Meet new music composers: Lavinia Kell Parker, Sonny-Ray Day Rider (Blackfoot), Scott Edward Godin, Arlan N. Schultz, Kelly-Marie Murphy, and Patrick Roux.
