Entre Nous
Musical Theater for 4 saxophones and 4 actors
Concert
Description
Enter the music theater work Entre Nous as a singular anthropological investigation, brilliantly led by Quasar - saxophone quartet and narrated by actors Tracy Marcelin, Marc Béland, Lili Morin-Prévost, and Nicolas Dionne-Simard. Up-and-coming Franco-Ontarian composer Thierry Tidrow wrote Entre Nous especially for Quasar. Combining instrumental music and theatre in a playful way, the piece acts as a revealer of hidden meanings and explores what language does and doesn't say about our past, our values, our traumas, our prejudices, our need to belong, and our need to laugh.
With obvious abandon and pleasure, the quartet dives into Thierry Tidrow's sound world, at the crossroads of different musical influences, where the exploration of noise, expressionist lyricism, pastiche, and parody unite in a rich and eloquent narrative discourse. These two concerts will be the subject of the third and final part of the triptych of art films that Quasar is devoting to creations by Canadian composers, after Ode to Metal and Chaleurs.
Event presented in co-diffusion with Le Vivier.
