The meaning of 'zest'

  2. a tart spicy quality
    refers to the overall character of the work.

Room is also given to lyricism and solo passages
and virtuosity.

 

Commissioned by the Fund for the Creation of music, Zest was composed for the Aurelia Quartet & the Slagwerkgroep Den Haag,

Quasar and Sixtrum percussion ensemble did the North American premiere of Zest on December 13 2007 as part of In Tempo concert.
