"sometime" was composed in 2004 for two soprano saxophones and two alto saxophones. The four instruments pass mellow ornamented melodic lines between one another, played over long droning pedal tones in the background. The long tones slowly drift away and are replaced by spiky percussive clicks and clacks that continue to accompany the melodic lines, which steadily become shorter and more agitated. The title was intended to reflect the nostalgic and folkloric imagery of the music.
