This piece was commissioned by the KLANG Festival with funding by the Canada Council for the Arts, premiere by the Sonar Quartet and Andreas Borregaard, accordion. The colour combination of this instrumentation fascinates me and the piece is an timbral exploration of the very particular combination of string quartet and accordion: from the highest registers to beating clusters and dance-like passages, ending in the dark sonorities in the lower registers of the instrumentation.
