Concerto Grosso is a septet composed especially for the QUÉBEC–PAYS-BASQUE concert, presented on October 20, 2021, at the Chapelle Historique du Bon-Pasteur. Its title directly refers to a musical form typical of the Baroque era, in which a group of soloists engages in dialogue throughout the performance—establishing not only an exchange between the “solo” and the orchestra, but also between two groups that create two distinct sonorities: the chamber ensemble and the orchestra. This confrontation between the soloists, the chamber ensemble, and the illusion of a massive orchestral sound in dialogue with them was the source of my inspiration for this piece.
